About
The Soil Frontier is a single-player 3D-based educational game with Augmented Reality (AR) developed in conjunction with Swinburne Geo Edu, the experts in the field of civil engineering. It is a mobile game that effectively introduced the basic knowledge of Prefabricated Vertical Drain (PVD) during the gameplay, where the players played the obstacle courses, quizzes, and simulation games. This project is a team project and Our team is named 'Momentum'.
The Soil Frontier offers an entertaining, hands-on, and interactive environment for learning the basics of Prefabricated Vertical Drain (PVD). Our team examined the gamification strategies to analyze the civil engineering students' learning and motivation outcomes.
The Augmented Reality (AR) allows the civil engineering students to learn and visualize the procedure of the Prefabricated Vertical Drain (PVD) installation that occurs underground.

I worked as a visual designer on this project. I mainly focused on character design, animation, and some asset design.
Joshua
Meet
Joshua is the main character of The Soil Frontier. Joshua is a newly graduated civil engineering student who has been employed as an intern for an engineering company on Planet Solaris,
His dream is to become a geotechnical engineer. To achieve his dream, he needs to defeat the soft soil monster that is destroying the city.
Players will be playing as Joshua, helping him go through all the obstacles and find the way to defeat the soft soil monster.

Characters
Mr. Supervisor
Mr. Supervisor is the Supervisor of Joshua. He is an expert in geotechnical engineering. He gives instruction and guides Joshua through his journey of defeating the soft soil monster.
He also guides the players through the whole learning process of Prefabricated Vertical Drain (PVD).
Soft Soil Monster
The soft soil monster is the monster that is destroying the city on the planet Solaris. It is the reason that causes the soil to sink and the building to collapse.
Its power is the water. So, the most effective way to defeat the monster is by using the PVD installation to get rid of its water.
Fail Scene
The animation will be played when the players choose the wrong answer in the quizzes session.
